Facial Recognition: Who's photo collection are you in?

It's impossible not to have seen even to a minor degree the extent of the London riots. For days, fires burned, people looted and some died trying to protect their businesses. There are countless numbers of photographs taken by from bystanders, CCTV and the police of people looting, rioting and mugging. How to Present your photography work?

When it comes to photography and presenting your work to a photography gallery, a plain cake is not as attractive as one that is designed with chocolate syrup and matching icings. When it comes to gifts, the one that is wrapped in quality paper with bows and ribbons will stand out in comparison to one that is placed inside a plain box. The decorative touch is what people are looking for because by nature, humans give importance to the visual aspect of things. I had the pleasure of studying under Jerry Liebling and his photography classes involved everything but the lecturing of photography.

It was not uncommon for him to talk about psychology, philosophy, history and film all in the same lecture! We were blessed with some photographical knowledge when the occasional name drops of Weston or Lewis Hine occured.

Finally he would conclude the seminar with a very thorough critique of our photographs.
